Visual Communication – Alice Ng Hui Qing

Project Description

“It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.” ~Dolly Parton

“Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.” ~Marilyn Monroe

“Fashion must be the intoxicating release from the banality of the world.” ~Diana Vreeland

Fashion has been established as an universal phenomenon that shapes the way people live. Celebrated as it seems, it also has its flamboyance within contradictions.

With words distilled from the quotes of empowering fashion darlings, manifesting into visual expositions, three set designs are conceived to reflect the beauty yet deadly nature of fashion.

The central ambition of engima! is neither to hail nor condemn the subject matter, but to provide a dialogue on the prevalent paradoxes in fashion through the visual interactivity within the set designs.
