Project Description

Roy is a hot-tempered People’s Republic of China (PRC) immigrant who works at a 24-hour café at the airport. One night, he meets Kim, a beautiful Singaporean stewardess with a strange request for him. Through this single encounter, the two of them share an unlikely connection that will change both their perceptions of race and social statuses.

Kelvin Chew’s body of work is often a confluence of film, photography and interactive technologies. He approaches new media methodologies through the lens of experimental multimedia design to portray and augment human interactions. Frequent collaboration with dance companies have seen his works presented on platforms such as M1 Fringe Festival 2012 and 2015. His recent projects include, W!ld Rice’s Monkey goes West, Singapore Dance Theatre’s Don Quixote, Loo Zihan’s Without, Spotlight Singapore – Mexico and his debut directorial piece, “Splice” for Re:Dance Theatre.
