Project Description

Cachette seeks to address the issue of pickpocketing, which is a common concern among travellers. Fusing functionality with aesthetics, Cachette looks into psychology and body language to identify the taboo zones in which men and women have. With this in mind, the garments and accessories are designed with hidden compartments intelligently integrated close to these locations which have optimal sensitivity. Along with layering and details, it confuses pickpockets. Cachette also looks into making timeless pieces that are lasting and versatile; thus, taking inspiration from the Trench coat design, it attempts to modernise them to adapt to the urban lifestyle.

About

An aspiring designer and an independent learner, she dares to challenge her limits and is open to exploring new techniques in design across different disciplines. Her design inspiration comes from everywhere and anywhere, as she believes that good observation and sensitivity to the environment are vital ingredients in the making of a good designer, who will be one to identify real issues and address them to the benefit of mankind.  Design is simple, yet complicated. In the overly “designed” world, it is the process of breaking down the complication and simplifying it which makes a designed product truly intuitive and timeless.
