Project Description

Every product design process begins with a choice of either form or function. Material was chosen as the start of this project.

In a bid to create awareness on the effects of waste created daily, newspaper was chosen. Fixed limitations created opportunities to explore and push the boundaries of what the material could do. By manipulating its appearance and properties, undervalued objects can be made desirable.

NuPaper contains pulped newspapers fused with biodegradable plastic to create a durable composite.  It aims to mould the mindsets of tomorrow’s generation by providing exposure to objects created from materials commonly regarded as waste.

About

A rebel and adventurer at heart, Hafeez is constantly on a lookout for new experiences to satisfy his passion. His spontaneity has brought him to do projects abroad, exposing him to new perspectives and skills.

As a designer, Hafeez’s designs are a reflection of what he observed through the understanding of the different ways that people live. There are no limits to ideas as long as they fall within the boundaries of practicality and functionality. He believes that design should be democratic and always serve a higher purpose.
