Aspiring to work in the Japanese design and art industry, Yan Qiao strives to have a certain ‘Nippon’ influence in his projects. His current project “探求者～SEEKER～” is a piece that shows how a boy travels around Tokyo in search for his own path, reflecting his desire of working in Japan which many would not dare to achieve. He believes strongly that good animation does not only come from the West, but also from Asia, especially Japan. He hopes to step away from the overused westernised styles in animation and show the Japanese /Asian flair to the rest of the world through his eyes.
