Jamin is a fan of American cartoons of the 1940s and 50s, and is also interested in the varied types of film language. He finds inspiration mostly in films and cartoons which disguise the filmmaker’s hunger, pain or frustration into whimsical and playful expressions. He believes these works are highly enjoyable, as they hold true to a serious implication while carrying deeper emotions, without the explicitness or overtly dramatic intent. He is always searching for the lost playfulness and naivety of his inner child, as he believes it is the key to the core essence of animation.
