Photography & Digital Imaging – Genevieve Leong Ai Lin
Intersections
Project Description
People spend a great portion of their waking hours thinking about something apart from what they are doing. We are all too familiar with this concept – society labels this as Daydreaming. A daydream is a short-term detachment from one’s immediate surroundings, during which a person’s contact with reality is blurred.
Intersections is an exploration aimed at visualising the different types of daydreams that our minds engage in, namely:
- i. Daydreaming in motion
- ii. Functional daydreaming
- iii. Daydreaming in conversation
- iv. Daydreaming at rest
In these detachments we seek a new realm, a fabricated world that defies the systematic order of our reality. Perhaps the fact that we subconsciously gravitate towards such behaviour is evidence in itself that daydreams are a condition for sanity.
