I ask myself, “Freedom, where are you?”…”

Set in a big city (including various other landscapes), Where Are You? is a story that details a little girl’s journey in search of Freedom. “What is Freedom and where is it?” she keeps on asking, but no one seems to know what it entails until a wise man comes along and enlightens her. The answer might just surprise us all.

Tran Thi Huyen Tran a.k.a Tran (born 1993) is the only child of a middle-class Vietnamese family with no artistic background, and was an introvert growing up. Her childhood was influenced by folktales, which become her endless source of inspiration not so long after that. When she turned 5, Tran was sent to the Children Visual Art Workshops in Children Cultural House; as it turned out she had been spending a whole decade in her life there for leisure. At 15, she made up her mind to become a fully professional artist. In 2011, after graduating from highschool in Saigon, she continued her tertiary studies abroad in Singapore at School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University (ADM – NTU), majoring in Digital Animation and Character Design. In the future, she aims to become an animator and illustrator.
