Photography & Digital Imaging – Wee Shi Han
Dayspring
Project Description
Built around the memory of a dear friend who was molested by her own father at a young age, this work brings together a group of young girls who had faced similar experiences. The three different stages – fear, depression, and eventually, hope – conveys a strong sense of strength and power within the girls, in the face of such adversity.
The emotions take form in the organic shapes of ink as it combines with quotes from the girls. This work speaks of fear and courage, darkness and light, hopelessness and hope.
