Digital Animation – Yeo Shiyun

Project Description

Cold Steam is one of the first ever visual effects final year projects in ADM. It is the story of a girl’s struggle for water in a post-apocalyptic world infested by mysterious creatures.

The 2-minute VFX film is shot with a green screen in a professional soundstage. It encompasses post-production elements such as full CGI environments, particle simulations, fluid effects, multi-pass compositing and animations.

As the pioneer batch of visual effects students in ADM, the film is also an example of a multi-disciplinary collaboration across different majors.

About

Shiyun’s greed for food can only ever be matched by her interest in visual effects. Hardworking and positive, she is constantly curious for and enthusiastic about acquiring new knowledge and skills.

A versatile teammate with a devoted work attitude, she has the ability to quickly learn and adapt to demanding work environments. Her positive, happy-go-lucky attitude has always been a motivational factor for the animation teams she has been a part of.

Besides eating, she has many other interests such as singing and traveling. She has publicly performed on several occasions as a vocalist. While she may be an accepting and open individual, she doesn’t really take to fruits. Or polka dots.
