Humanizing Gears: Tensions & Harmony
This is an analog installation of gears. Gears as representative
of societies, cultures and groups of people, this work touches
on their nature - mechanical, predictable and structured, but
with added interaction of these gears, these gears are
"humanized".
With two installations in place, "Tensions" is
a wall installation with two handles to turn gears and suspend
balls. These are magnet contained balls to create attraction or
repulsion between them. "Harmony" is a table installation of
gears, where turning of handles would allow "drawing" of balls
to be made across the sand.
