Wasilah
Project Genre: Sound and Visual Installation
Project Description: Wasilah, meaning “connection” in Arabic, focuses on the relationships between art, music and spirituality in Islam. It is an immersive installation (son et lumiere) in which viewers can disconnect from Singapore's noise and chaos, and connect with a state of tranquility. Using an experimental blend of generative art and music, the project introduces sound and visuals as the main setting for celestial experiences and artistic expressions. A metaphor of the ocean will serve as a visual encounter for one’s serene temporal journey. This project seeks to construct a new dimension that provokes the viewer’s perception of time and space.
