Driven by ambition and fervour, Qing Sheng goes over the top in his projects. This includes spending over 60 hours on a few seconds of stop-motion for the experimental abstract film Affinity: A Prelude, previously screened at PRIMANIMA World Festival of First Films, as well as original music production with motion capture in Affinity: Our Song.
He believes that a good animated film should not solely be eye candy or believable animation. It needs the completeness of film language—an experience, an active dialogue between auteur and audience.
