Project Description: Permanent Resident examines the artist’s perplexed life. She considers herself to be perplexed as her roots are unknown to her and is consequently unsure of who she is. Her citizenship and place of residence were decided by the previous generation and hence she has never lived in nor know her native country. She therefore resides in a land that she considers home and yet does not fully belong. Thus, her understanding of how she came to be is minimal and standing in society, fairly questionable.
