SPLACE

Project Genre: Photography

Project Description: "Physical spaces are empty and meaningless until we ascribe meaning to it. Then they become a place."
– American-Chinese Geographer, YiFu Tuan

Drawn to YiFu Tuan’s analogy of space and place, I perceive space as movement where humans have no attachment and are more like visitors of that particular space, and place as constant where humans have some form of attachment, relationship, purpose, task or role like inhabitants of that place. SPLACE is a series of constructed images where space and place seemed to coexist at the same time in my attempt to emulate a place.
