Project Genre: Textile Art and Illustration
Project Description: This project explores the role of craftsmanship and craft in this era of mass production. Crafted objects and things that are made at a human scale are starting to rise in value and popularity. By studying how and why craft is valued in different cultures and communities, I hope to bring viewers along a personal journey to discovering the true meaning of craft. The craft process individuates the maker and the user by shining light on the “aura” of originality; the essence of each object.
